Welcome to S.E.E.D.
Services in Education and Economic Development
Elevate. Motivate. Encourage.
S.E.E.D., formerly known as Youth Financial Services NFP, was created to motivate and encourage youth, young adults, and families to lead productive and successful lives, despite the disparity seen or experienced in their personal environments and/or communities. Our goal is to elevate children, families, generations, and communities through innovative, accessible programs that promote early learning, youth and young adult enrichment, and socio-economic development.
(early learners, youth & young adults 15-24)
By way of our Youth Financial Services (YFS) and From "U" University programs we seek to re-introduce missing educational and enrichment opportunities back into the school system and communities of underrepresented and underserved children, youth, and families of Chicago’s South and South Suburban area.
Economic Development- Young Adults & Adults
In expansion of our foundational programming S.E.E.D. has set its sights on creating social-economic opportunities for our community as a whole. With new programs and development on the way that provide job-readiness training, career exploration, guidance and assistance to aspiring local entrepreneurs, and job creation for those that live in the communities we support.
Alternative Early Learning Delivery Model
Specially Designed Teaching Method
We are firm believers in "it takes a village". Since our beginning we've always taken a grassroots approach. Creating relationships and connections with those who live, work, and go to school in the communities we provide services. Additionally, we are just as big on advocacy as we are on the provision of quality programs. Whenever possible we engage the community and collaborate with stakeholders in an effort to formulate viable ways to create system change in the areas of education and economic development.
Our design, development, and delivery is:
We understand that family dynamics and lifestyles differ from one household to the next. And that traditional models of program or service delivery aren't always sufficient. It is one of our goals to stay fluid and flexible in our delivery strategies. In an effort to make our programs more accessible to the community.
Dreams are your ideas of success. They exist only in your mind. Goals define the action you must take in order to make your dreams reality...
